To reduce the cardiovascular disease burden in Western Australia by facilitating and championing innovative and transformative research

Cardiovascular disease has the highest level of healthcare expenditure for any disease group in Australia. The estimated expenditure for cardiovascular disease represents 12% of all healthcare expenditure in Australia, equating to $8.8 billion.

WACRA aims to reduce the disease burden for all Western Australians through:

Actively promote awareness of cardiovascular disease burden and its implications to embed it in policy, funding and community practices
Grow and support a strong community of cardiovascular researchers
Work in collaboration with local, national and international organisations to advocate, support members and create research funding opportunities
Continue its emphasis on excellent governance and long-term organisation sustainability
